How to Use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer: Tips & Safety

There’s a long list of must-haves when you’re taking care of a baby. If you’re actually not careful with what you buy, it’s going to be so easy to fill up your home with baby stuff! So, we highly recommend that you rationalize those purchases.

Based on our experience raising cute babies, it’s so easy to go crazy, especially if you’re a first-time mom and dad. But, one of the things every baby-raising family has to have is the Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer. It’s for both the convenience of the carer and the instant happiness of the little one. You know how it is —  when it’s feeding time, that munchkin can be utterly impatient.

If you already own one, good for you. If not, just see how easy feeding time can be. Here’s how:

  • Step 1: Set the bottle warmer on top of a flat surface and away from the edge. Set the wire inside the gap at the bottom of the base to minimize movement.
  • Step 2: Place the baby bottle with the cap on inside the warmer.
  • Step 3: Add water to the warmer. Take care not to overfill. Leave about 10mm of space between the water level and the brim so it wouldn’t overflow when the water is heated.
  • Step 4: Plug in and turn the dial to 3 — the highest setting. You will notice that the light will turn. This indicates that the water inside is being heated.
  • Step 5: Wait for the light to automatically turn off. Once it does, your bottle is ready.

You may also use this unit to heat a baby jar. Contrary to a baby bottle where you need to keep the cap on, with a baby jar, you have to take the cap off. Then, simply place the baby jar inside the bottle warmer. The succeeding steps are as above with the baby bottle except for this first step.

For your baby’s safety, always check the temp of the milk or food inside the bottle. You don’t need any special instrument to do that. Simply squeeze a drop on the back of your arm to test. If it is perfectly warm, the baby is ready to enjoy the contents.

Refer back to this guide on how to use Tommee Tippee bottle warmer when you’re ready to use your unit for the first time. If you think you can use the microwave for this job, don’t even consider it! Microwave unevenly heats your baby’s bottle contents and causes burns. You’ll be much better off with a Tommee Tippee.

How to use Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle Warmer

When you’re up and about with the little tike in tow, make sure to pack your Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle Warmer. I tell you, it’s such a lifesaver!

We’ve never been out without it ever since we’ve tried it and experienced the convenience that came with it. Needless to mention, babies will find their milk oh so much more satisfying even when you’re running between airports across the globe.

Did I already say you can use the same system to make your formula too? Plus, you can also use it to heat baby’s food jars.

Your Tommee Tippee Travel Warmer will come with the following parts:

  • Flask with insulation
  • Screw cap
  • Beaker

Here’s all you need to do:

  • 1st step: Boil water, as usual, using your thermos.
  • 2nd step: Pour freshly boiled water into the flask. Replace the screw cap on and make sure it’s tightly sealed.
  • 3rd step: Pack securely. We also like to keep it within reach so it’s easy to find and use when it’s baby’s feeding time.
  • 4th step: Prep the formula then place the bottle inside the beaker.
  • 5th step: Push the button on top of the pourer to slightly raise the screw cap.
  • 6th step: Pour the water into the beaker. Take care not to allow the hot water to overflow.
  • 7th step: Once done, push the button again to close the pourer.
  • 8th step: Allow the bottle contents to heat to the desired temp.

Once done, always test the milk or food temp by squeezing a drop on the back of your arm. If it’s not too warm, your baby is ready to be fed. If you’ve overheated the baby bottle or food jar, give it some time to cool down. Those are the moments when you’ve got to be a little more creative to distract your baby from his grumbling tummy.

Water in the flask stays warm for up to 10 to 12 hours, depending on use. Make the heat last longer by locking it right after every pour. We also make it a habit to place it inside an insulated bag to help keep the heat inside.
